I am a maker.

Sometimes, I make things that tell a story, deliver information, inspire learning, inspire creativity, or inspire play. Sometimes, I make something that does all those things.

I have been a maker my entire life, but I've been getting paid for it since 2007, where after earning a bachelor’s degree in graphic design, I began as the art director for Big Backyard and Wild Animal Baby magazines (now known as Ranger Rick Jr. and Cub) at National Wildlife Federation. In 2013, I moved on to Highlights for Children, where I focused on interactive products. After creating my own product tester in 2015 (my first kid) I have been freelancing, making things for many publishers of children's media.

I have enjoyed working with some amazingly creative people, both in the in-house 'sandbox' and as a freelance contractor. Since 2007, I have directed dozens of illustrators, and collaborated with many professionals to create print and interactive products for kids and families, including editorial, marketing, dev, and web teams. This site contains just a few of those projects.

Sometimes I can be found turning over rocks with my kids, hiking and foraging with my chef husband, playing with sourdough, or attempting ridiculous birthday cakes for my kids. My happy place is anywhere I can roll up my sleeves and get messy.
